Going back to US with 2 cats

Can't Post | Private Reply
OK, I've searched the posts and googled to no avail. I have rescued 2 kittens and am taking them back to the US. I am trying to find out what I need to do to cross the border with them. When I put that in a search all I get back is info about coming INTO Mexico with cats. The only place I found info about going to the US with cats said that as long as the cats look healthy you don't need anything(no papers, no proof of shots, nothing)and that doesn't sound right to me. Anyone have any information on this?

Any vet should have a health certificate. I believe the card has to be dated withing 7 days of crossing

That was the case when crossing into Arizona with cats - nothing was required - but to be on the safeside, get a vet certificate. When flying, a health certificate is required by the airlines.

That's what I figured, I'll get a certificate before I leave. Thanks!

Glad I could help.

I should add, in case anyone reading this in the future is looking for information about flying out with pets, that your airline might have additional requirements and you should also check with them.
