Food and Safety in Cabo and Surrounding Areas

Can't Post |
My girlfriend and I are travelling to Mexico (Cabo San Lucas)in November. Neither of us are "world travellers". I hear that most resort areas are fine as far as drinking the water, eating etc. My concern is that if we travel outside of the immediate resort areas we may be placing ourselves in danger with the potential for food poisoning or physical harm.
Any suggestions would be helpful... especially on how to prepare for the food/water issues. What to stay away from while there, etc.
THANKS!

:Relax, you have nothing to worry about. Any restaurants catering to tourists use purified water and ice and the food is safe. If you are nervous you may want to avoid salads, although I have never had a problem. All the stores sell bottled water..Mexicans drink it too!! Most cases of stomach problems actually come from toomuch sun and booze, rather than contaminated food.
As to safety, just excercise regular caution.don't flash a lot of money, buy drugs off the street, get too drunk late at nigh, for example.
Have a good time

Can you say "Marina Del Rey South"

Saftey is about the same as "Marina Del Rey" - as for food just make sure everything you eat comes freshly out of some clean 450 degree oil!
Good Luck!

Cabo is perfect if you aren't a world traveler--it's in a world of it's own. Safety and food pretty much equal to Disneyland. Don't worry about it. Worry about timeshare salespeople.
Have fun

Los Cabos

I knew a cook in Mazunte, Oaxaca who told me that her husband was working in the United States, in Cabo. That pretty much says it all. You are going to a resort. If you are afraid of crime and food poisoning, stay in Cabo and use common sense. You should also stay away from Miami, San Francisco, New York, or any other large city in the USA. I am not trying to be cruel, we all have our preferences. To ward off stomach trouble, buy umeboshi paste or umeboshi balls and take some every day. They are available in health food stores.
: My girlfriend and I are travelling to Mexico (Cabo San Lucas)in November. Neither of us are "world travellers".
