Ferry to Cabo

I plan on driving from Zihuatanejo to Mazatlan and then taking the ferry across to Cabo. Does anyone know the price? Is it daily or just a couple of times a week?
Thanks,
Ed K.

There hasn't been a ferry to Cabo for many years. Even then, I think it went to Puerto Vallarta and not Mazatlan. However, from Mazatlan, you can go to La Paz then drive or bus it to Cabo. Here is the website for the ferry system: http://www.ferrysematur.com.mx/
The cheapest seat is about $50 US dollars/one way/per person.
For a regular car the fee is about $400 US

Thanks for the info Estaben. If a guy could get one of those 50% discounts, it would not be too bad. But, with $500.00 I would have to pay for my Suburban, it will be cheaper to fly.

Yes Ed, it's real expensive and the cheap seats are not the way to go. It's a long trip so I'd suggest getting a cabin. When you do get a cabin, they could sell the other bed in the cabin to a stranger. Years ago, there were three of us and to insure our privacy we bought the extra bunk in our cabin for four. However, in those days, the whole cruise cost us less than $75 US for the car and four people. You might also consider that you CANNOT visit your car while on the trip and pets are not allowed on deck. We had a dog with us and had to bribe the guard to make sure the dog was doing well. Since those inexpensive days of ferry travel, the Ferry system was privitized. With no more government subsidies, the prices went out of sight. I feel they are really trying to discourage passengers and primarily use the system to ship food and goods, from the mainland, to the folks in Baja California Sur.
