Driving from Panama to Mexico

Can't Post | Private Reply
Hi!

My husband and I are thinking about driving our diesel SUV out of Panama to Mexico in a couple of months.
There is so much information and helpful advice on the internet about driving from Canada or the US into Mexico, but I can't seem to find anyone information from someone who has driven the Pan American Highway into Mexico. Anyone with some helpful information is welcome to reply.

Go to the forum ADVrider.com

It is a motorcycle forum. Look in the section Trip Planning, Americas. There is a sticky there on border crossings. Your challenge will be the Honduras borders.

Good luck!

You might want to read some of the individual ride reports as well. You will have to learn to use the search function. There is lots of road information in these reports and alternate crossing points. You will find that some crossing points are more hassle free than others. Peru and Honduras seem to be the more troublesome borders. The reports are also hilarious, but you will have to remember we are motorcyclists and like to post a lot of theatrical nonsense about our adventures for the sake of humor. Nevertheless, when it comes to real information, it is always accurate. Also in that trip planning section are hotels/motels you may want to consider on your route. If you are into touring then read the ride reports. You will find that motorcyclists generally go way off of the tourist beaten path. Not a Gringo to bee seen for miles nor a word of English heard.

Cheers,

Mike
