I would like to go from Mexico City to Ixtapa, has anyone tried the new toll road? Any idea how long it takes to drive midweek, minimal traffic? Wondering what the best route is, any ideas?<p>Thanks,

Driving Mexico City to Ixtapa

The best way is to take the toll road down to Acapulco and 200 north. About 8 hours. The toll road is expensive (about $45 US) but much faster then the market and worth it. Take the cut off road just east of ACA and don't go into town unless you have to. 3 hours to Zihu from the cutoff road.
