Dog-Friendly lodgings, best roads

Can't Post |
I'm driving from California to the Oaxacan Coast in February of 2003. The trip includes a break in Atolinga, Zacatecas where my uncle (and travelling companion) lives. I have access to lots of resources but I'd like to hear positive reccomendations from folks who have stopped in any of these towns with their (large)dogs in tow. Our plan is to rent motel rooms, but my dog and I will actually sleep in my camper van.
ok so here is a list of the places where we might expect to stop for the night:
Tuscon, Arizona
Las Cruces, New Mexico
Hidalgo del Parral, Chihuahua
Zacatecas
(break in Atolinga)
Chapala or Ajijic
Morelia
Cuernavaca
Oaxaca City- San Felipe del Agua or someplace similar, away from the city
Costa Chica (I have friends there but any reccomended places in Huatulco, Pto Angel, Pto Escondido, Mazunte, etc. might be useful just in case)
Please write to me directly if you can.
Thanks everybody!
