: I'm driving from san antonio texas to zacatecas mexico how long?<p>San Antonio to Zacatecas should be a one-day (all daylight) drive except for two things: the time it takes to get your car permit in N Laredo and highway 54 from Saltillo to Z which can be pretty slow -- lots of trucks and buses on an old two-lane road. I would not like to drive that road at night. <p>The best time to deal with the car papers chore is very early in the morning. I recommend no later than 6:00AM. You might want to consider leaving SA very early in the morning so your night driving would be on I35 instead of Mex-54. If you cross the border around 6:00AM, you should be in Z before dark.<p>
