Crossing Into Texas @ Laredo

Can't Post |
We will be returning to the US in July and will be towing a utility trailer with our household goods. Can anyone tell me whether US Customs accept trailers crossing into Texas via Bridge 1 in Laredo, or is that crossing only for cars? Also, reference the Columbia Bridge, is the Mexican car permit return office and Mexican Immigration office easy to locate when we are heading north, or are those offices more aligned for people crossing the Colimbia heading south? And last question, any recommendation re the best crossing point would be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't know much about Columbia except that it is smaller. That usually means simpler and faster as well. I've crossed back at both Bridge 1 and 2. I didn't return the permit either time I crossed at Bridge 1 but from what I remember it is more difficult to get into (not to mention driving through the center of town) than at bridge 2. I would use Bridge 2 since you've got a trailer as it is a larger crossing and easier to get into the permit return office.

: We will be returning to the US in July and will be towing a utility trailer with our household goods.
