Copper Canyon Train - vehicle transport

I found one site by doing a web search. http://www.tracksrvtours.com/html/copper.html
No recommendation is implied.
If you have a 4WD vehicle and a good map you can drive through yourself. It's been about 5 years since I did it so it may be different now, but there was a road that paralleled the tracks as far as Bahuichivo, which had a hotel. There was another road that turned off toward Temoris. I think the next town after that was Chinipas and then you came out at Alamos. It would be a big help if you spoke Spanish.
Another option is to leave your vehicle in Creel and ride the train to El Fuerte and return the next day. This has to be cheaper than shipping the Jeep. Then you can drive toward Guachochic, a very beautiful drive. After that you can drive to Mazatlan via Durango. I've heard that the Durango-Mazatlan leg is very slow; maybe someone who's done it can comment. Some details on the train and on Creel and El Fuerte are given at the link shown below.
: I am planning a trip to Baranca del Cobre in October and wish to not only experience the drama of the Canyon Train, but also make some excursions via vehicle into the canyon and to have my vehicle with me for the extended trip from Los Mochis down the coast to Mazatlan. I have seen photos of flatbed train cars on the railway through the Canyons with vehicles and people aboard seated on lawn chairs. Is this still an option and how do I make arrangements to transport my Jeep on the Canyon Train?
