October in Guanajuato?
|
Can't Post |
|
In October each year in the city of Guanajuato the International Festival Cervantino, a celebration of MIguel de Cervantes and his times.
It is one big party, sorta like Mardi Gras but not nearly as wild and crazy, and it lasts longer. Actually Mardi Gras is not a good comparison.
It is more like a cultural arts fair, with plays, opera, musicals, callejoneadas, theatre.
People come from all over, and everything almost is booked ahead, and prices are higher even if you are able to find a place to crash.
The locals mostly stay at home or go outta town till everything dies down afterwards.
I am braindead at the moemnt, it is late and I have had a long day, so check back tomorra or remind me if I forget.
Love and nite~nite, Lavanda
....and you might want to join here... travel-mexico-subscribe@egroups.com but will get back to this tomorrow

: : Yes, there are cheap hotels in Gto.
: : What dates? What do you consider : : CHEAP? : : Or do you mean inexpensive, and : : how much is your limit?
: : I can tell you this: if you are : : planning going between now and : : Oct 28, NOTHING will be cheap : : and very little will be available : : at all. : : : Cheap hotels in Guanajuato?
: : : : : Thanks!
: Could you recommend inexpensive (under $25USD) hotels after November 1 in Guanajuato? (What's going on in October in GTO that would reduce the supply of available hotel rooms?) Also, could anyone recommend shops/artisans for folk art purchases in GTO, SMA and Dolores Hidalgo?
