I have heard that the Canadian Automobile Association issues a document called a “Carnet de passage en douane”, which will be accepted at the Mexican border as a proof that a bond has been issued (instead of the credit card or cash payment) for temporary importation of a car into Mexico. Is this true; has anyone any experience with this?
