BuS TrAvEl question - how long from DF to Acapulco

Can't Post |
How confusing is it to get FROM the airport in DF, TO the south bus terminal where the Estrella De Oro departs for Acapulco.
Is it better to hire a taxi for the ride, or is the Metro easy enough for a blond. I will be traveling with a small back-pack after 8pm on a friday night.
What would be the taxi fare to that bus terminal. The bus to Acapulco is a first class direct nonstop. How many hours does it take the bus to get there.

BuS TrAvEl question - how long from DF to Acapulco

: The taxi fare (autorizados) MXC a/p to south bus terminal is about 140 pesos but better than going on the metro after dark. From there top bus service (called plus) leaves every fe minutes.
Orrr, you can catch a bus at the MXC a/p terminal directly to Cuernavaca for a few pesos more, (gets you out of the big DF much faster) and in Cuernavaca pick up another bus for Acapulco. They depart all the time. ETA to Acapulco is 4.5 hours....the first class buses won;t exceed 95.5 kph. Have a cocoloco a mi salud!

Thanks for the insights Traveling' Vinny.
yeah, I will probably decide that a taxi will be my best option. I don't know how adventuristic I'll feel right after the flight.
The Cuernavaca route sounds intriguing, but I wanted a more direct one to the 'BEACH. Now if I had an escort, I would feel a little more comfortable traveling through the contryside..... anyway how long to get to the south bus terminal by taxi.
Kind of curious about the metro. Is it that big of an issue using the metro, how confusing would it be to get from the airport to the south bus terminal.(insert blond joke here) Does the metro stop at that bus terminal. How long does it take to make the trip
I have read that it gets crowded and all during peak periods. But is it that crowded between say, 8pm-10pm......
cocktails on the bus sound interesting..... probably a good idea that the bus is direct. lol
Salud

The entrance to the metro system is at the nacional end of the airport.
The station at the bus terminal south is Taxquenia. My guestimate is ,it will take around 1 hour. You have to change trains twice: in Pantitlan and in Chabacano station.
The fare is 2 Pesos.
Taxquena is the last station on line 2. The bus terminal is a 5 minutes walk away.
Should be no problem when you are traveling light.
: Kind of curious about the metro. Tasqueno south bus terminal by TAXI = 30-40 minutes

Depends on the time of day, on a bad friday 'hora de la pica" almost an hour by taxi otherwise figure 30-40 minutes. Hey this town has 18MILLION human beings and thery are ALL going someplace! Saturday afternoons can be BRUTAL in D.F. traffic.
Don't dismiss the Cuernavaca route, it was about 9$ last April. (BTW taxi to Tasqueno alone cost me $16 that trip) Many of my silver friends swear by this route, even though you must change bus stations (for Taxco) in Cuernavaca (4$). And you could be at the beach SOONER than any other route!
Cheers
Pernel
P.S. I like the old style 'Hotel Mision" in ACA, near the zocolo.

Hey thanks Pernel, that's good to know. 30/40 minutes will work nicely..... means I can make the sooner bus, unless well..... Looking good anyway.
The bus line called Estrella De Oro is the one I will choose, they go direct to Acapulco for $245 pesos. I know it's probably quite easy to take the Cuernavaca route, but after 12hrs traveling I'm not going to want to transfer to another bus.
That hotel, 'Hotel Mision, I know of it, and actually it is very charming, with the gardens and all. Kind of a tranquil oasis amid the chaos of that area of Acapulco....
I will be staying at 'La Flamingo. It's a short distance to the beaches but still easy enough to get to them.... The vistas of the Pacific are supposed to be breathtaking and the noise from the traffic is minimal.
regards
