Shortcut

Brownsville to Guadalajara

Can't Post |
I have driven to the Lake Chapala area a couple of times via Laredo which is an easy 11hr drive. We will be meeting some friends in Brownsville the first week in August. They will be following us to Ajijic. We have never been on this route and need help in what the highways and roads are like. We would also like to know anything about this route if anyone on Mex-Connect has driven a trip this way before. By viewing my map the most likely route seems to be highway 101 thru Ciudad Victoria and on to highway 80 junction then 80 to connect with 57 at El Huizache (57 with which we are familiar with from there to Ajijic). Will it be feasible to consider this a one day trip to Ajijic or should we plan to spend the night somewhere? Any help in this matter will be greatly appreciated.

We find a comfortable drive is to stay overnight in San Juis Potosi for the night, then on to Ajijic by lunch the next day. The road out of S.L.P. for about 30Kms or there about takes you up in the mountains, which can give you a very good Sunrise if the sky is clear. Try I for a change, we have converted several others and the they have been very pleased>
