Brownsville to Chetumal Road Conditions

I'm leaving for Chetumal from Texas Oct. 3 for 4-5 day drive across Yucatan. Any major road problems as result of recent hurricane ... aside from the usual enlargement of potholes and birthing new ones? Will be taking the fastest shortest route. Appreciate any and all info. Thnx.

Jerry,My mom said Pemex workers on strike... I would check out fuel availability.
Chetumal is having difficulty getting supplies in now....
Mom said have heard hurricane damaged roads but not sure to what extent and exactly where.Will be glad to share updates as available.Rick Hopkins

Matamoros/101 to Ciudad Victoria - 85/80 to Tampico - 180 to Veracruz - 150/180D to Villhermosa - 186 to Chetumal. All toll roads and city bypasses where available. Also, any info on the Pemex strikes effect on gas availability will be appreciated. (Any donkeys for hire? :)Jerry

Thnx for bringing up the Pemex strike. Hadn't heard anything about that. Did my homework and read on the AOL news where the strike was settled on 9/29(?). Silver lining here is that peso is now at 10.25. Will keep you posted on what I learn of road conditions. You can see my route on my follow up to Carlos.
