Is there any difference in crossing the border at Sonoyta and not Nogales? I will be going to Puerto Penasco and thought it'd be easier to drive through Arizona more than Mexico!

By going through Nogales you pass out of the free zone to get onto hiway 2 to Puerto Penasco. Where as by going through Sonoyta you remain in the free zone all the way. I find I.8 quiet and the Gila Bend to border route also quiet.
