Lucy writes:Why are the dates of posts all mixed? Posts used to run by newest post first. Now it is all over the board..... 1. When viewing messages in the forum message order isn't "all over the board". Messages order is established by threads with the most recent activity being placed at the top of the list. As an example if you had three message threads, A, B, and C, with the following posting activities: A - Initial post made December 1, reply made December 14 at 1300 B - Initial post made December 14 at 1100, no replies C - Initial post made November 15, reply made December 14 at 1430 The display order in the forum would be (in descending order) C,A, then B. This system is quite logical when you think about it because it means that message threads with activity stay at the top of the list, while dead message threads drop lower and lower in the display order. 2. With the shift to the new forum software, there were several new forums added including one called "Practice and Help" which is where queries such as yours are addressed (and to which a moderator will probably shift this thread). To save the moderator the work of moving the thread, you should use it for future queries of this type.
