Personal vendettas by moderators

Apparently are allowed. I politely pointed out a spelling error on Esperanzas food blog. She edited out the speeling error on her blog and then decided to delete my posts.

What is her problem?

Do I understand this correctly? You pointed out a spelling error made on a non-related website, on the Mexconnect Forum?

It is unfortunate that you perceive normal Moderator behaviour as a personal vendetta.

The Moderators on Mexconnect are all volunteers.
The Moderators on Mexconnect do their darnedest to be as fair and as impartial as possible.
The Moderators on Mexconnect are human and occasionally make mistakes.

The Moderators on Mexconnect are expected to follow the Forum Guidelines and remove posts that:
- are not Mexico relevant
- are disparaging, denigrating, demeaning or condescending or outright rude to another Forum participant or participants
- use language that is not acceptable on a family site - yes, many schools use Mexconnect as part of their curriculum, so postings that contain language that would be R rated are removed
- are side comments that do not add to the subject under discussion
- that are time sensitive in their content and are no longer valid
- that contain false or misleading information or contain errors of fact.

On occasion, when a posting is removed, postings that are subordinate to that posting are also removed if they would become orphan postings without context.

Further, when a Poster is continuously having their postings removed for any or all of the above reasons, I will consider banning them from access to the Forums.

I appreciate you posting your concerns.

As an aside, other Moderators, including myself, remove postings. I know I have deleted one of your postings because it belonged in one of the above descriptions.

Did someone say "non-related"? It linked to the article that was the subject of the thread. And it is the personal blog of said moderator.

Well. I still don't understand why the post was removed. But I do know that the Kitchen forum has fewer new threads than any other on the board. Which to me seems odd given the importance food has in the local culture.

There are a total of 2 new threads in September. One is mine. But I will refrain from any further participation. Good luck, moderator.

If you (David McL) remove a post, will you tell the poster so he/she(I) can understand the erason and try to make sure it doesn't happen again? Sometimes it's not really that easy to see one's own mistakes until they are pointed out, and then often they are not repeated.

Thanks.
