I'm guessing that you all are talking about streaming audio and/or video from the states to Mexico. I'm sitting here in Houston at the airport waiting for my next flight back to Jalisco, and was just talking with a guy who was going back to Singapore with something called a google TV that was given to him by his kids so that he could watch US TV over the internet when he gets back.

I tried to tell him some of the problems he would have but, he sadly didn't have time to listen. (His flight was about to leave)

I'm lucky. The Canadian Shaw Direct system gives me TV (and some radio) from what (where) I consider my home towns of Seattle, and Vancouver. And all on a 36.5 by 26.5 inch Satellite dish.

Good luck. I'm told it can be done, but that there will be many stumbling blocks put in the way.

Isn´t this the same as a proxy server? Using a proxy server from the U.S. would allow you to watch videos banned from playing in Mexico. These can be found doing an internet search. A friend has a site that blocks the IP address, which works in his case.

The problem is the video suppliers are not dumb.
They catch on quickly when a new scheme appears online, and they block it.
I have tried a bunch of them with no success at all.
If your friend is really is able to watch videos from the major networks in the USA,
please tell us what he is using.

I will email him and ask, since he is in out of country for the next couple weeks. If you have tried a bunch, did you just do the free bees or did you put out some cash/pesos? Knowing which not to use would help those looking to find a proxy server to watch videos.

I think your guy with the Google TV setup might be in for a surprise. Unless he uses an IP hider I doubt that it will work the way he thinks. I have heard of people being able to use Slingbox with the main setup in the US.

My friend uses http://www.strongvpn.com/es not free but $7 a month.
There is a free software program, check out CNET.com for info.

I haven't done it yet....manana.
The previous one I used about a year ago worked fine, but
then I started getting messages not allowing use of anonymizers.
However, I don't remember what sites on which I was receiving the messages.
Not sure if that means my long term memory is fading as well as the short term.
Then I deleted the program.
