Blogs, Blogz, mexican blogs

Can't Post |
Just about everyone gets a small patch of webspace when they sign up to an internet provider. Blogs, and particularly bloggers, are small, amateur websites, not too fancy, never very big - the bloggers are software which make it real easy to put together a basic website and post to it. These new bloggers have caused an explosion of blogs.

Is there any way mexconnect could act as a gateway to mexican blogs (not a server)? I should mention that since they are always non-profit ( otherwise not allowed by the server) they often contain copyright music and images, and there seems to be no real problem so far.

It would probably save bandwidth on the forums.

1. How would these blogs consume bandwidth on the forums?

2. How much bandwidth are they currently consuming?

I think what he's saying is people should create their own pages for ranting, then have Mex Connect have a links page to those rants / off topic discussions. AFAIK, thats what blogs are. Diaries, and rants, and stuff.

If your confusion is with regards to blogs (weblogs) in general, key the term "blog" into your favorite search engine and see what comes barfing out. Pyra Labs, one of the players in the blog software/hosting arena has a decent, if somewhat breathless discussion of the basics which can be viewed at http://www.blogger.com/about.pyra.

If your confusion is with regards to the original posting in this message thread, personally at this point I'm just writing it off as a silly exercise in buzzword tossing. It's a shame that neither this particular forum software or the http protocols in general allow you to do much in the way of killfiles.

If you open up your message, on the right side of the menue bar, there are two options available to you, the owner of the posting.
1. Edit - wherein you can edit your own posting
2. Delete - whereby you can delete the posting.

Feel free to use them!

Is there a "TIME" limit for those options?
I have tried to do that.

Edgar sniped: >If your confusion is with regards to the original posting in this message thread, personally at this point I'm just writing it off as a silly exercise in buzzword tossing< I thought my original post is pretty clear. I am asking in a 'letter to the editor' of Mexconnect if there can be a link page to personal, non-commercial websites about Mexico. To which the webjefe should have responded that there are already links to personal webpages in the links section of the opening page, and instructions how to submit them for consideration. I found this section of the links subsequent to my post. In the post I make it clear the nature of these websites as well as their current buzzword as 'blogs'. Sorry if this angered you. Once again, life is very simple if you just let it happen, try not to read so much meaning into things.

Thanks David. What I actually had in mind was the old UNIX newsreader KILL files, such as those that were used by Rn, trn, strn. I don't think it's feasible with http and descendent protocols.
