I was doing some research on visa renewal information and came across a post on another forum where the person said;
If you got your initial FM3 in the US or Canada, by the way, your renewal date is the date you actually entered Mexico at the border and had your visa first stamped. It is not the date you picked up your new FM3 at the consulate in the US where you got it.”
Does anyone know if this is true? I received my visa in the U.S. on December 10th and it was stamped on February 13th which one would be my renewal date?

You should ask at your INM office because they don't all do it the same way.
It seems that most offices accept the date you entered México,
but some want to use the date of the original issue (like my office did).

I always switch to Basic Editor when I want to make a post including a quote, which can be a bit tedious. Will this glitch ever be fixed, I wonder.

Unless things have changed you were supposed to register at the INM office where you live within 30 days of your arrival in Mexico--they would have given you your renewal date then. Listen to Rolly--go to your INM office now.

Update;
Went to INM today, they told me that the visa is valid for 1 year from the date a person arrives into the country, not from the date the visa was issued. I hope this helps anyone else that may have a similar problem.

My Consulate-issued FM3 renewal date was not the anniversary of my crossing the border, but a year from the date that I registered my FM3 with the Morelia INM office. YMMV
