goofy new intersections in Tijuana

Now that the dust has cleared in the vicinity of the east end of the Rapida, there are some new, confusing intersections. It looks like the idea is to direct left turning traffic to the Left of oncoming traffic. That is, the left turn lane stops well in advance of the intersection, then crosses oncoming traffic so that when the left turners arrive at the intersection they are already on the left, which doesn't seem right, well, I just don't know.

Hi Alex,

If I understand your description correctly, the highway folks just installed an intersection like that near me. It works GREAT. It replaced an arrangement that was a nightmare.
