I plan to take a cheap flight to Mexico City and then go to Guadalajara by bus. Is there anything wrong with that idea.

Since I have De-effephobifa I would consider finding a flight direct to Guadalajara even if it cost a little extra. (did you get my letter re apartments in Oaxaca?)

Well, I don't have DF-phobia, but the bus trek from D.F. to Guadalajara is around 7-8 hours of total boredom and Kung Fu movies. Add in 30 min. for the cab from the airport to the bus station.

Depending upon your point of departure, I would question whether flights to Mexico City are really any less costly than flights to GDL, especially when you factor in the cost of the cab and the bus fare.
