bringing car into country prior to obtaining fm3

I own a home in Tequisquiapan...I travel there every three or four months...I would like to drive a car down and leave it to use when I am in Tequis...I won't be obtaining my FM3 for another 18-24 Mos. Is this permissible??? How do you do it with an FMT????? I really appreciate the forums...I have learned a great deal and it will make my move much easier. Thanks BobR

With an FMT you can get a car permit for only 180 days. Before the 180th day, you will need to drive to a land border crossing to get a new permit for another 180 days. The permit can only be gotten at a land border crossing.
