I know you still pretty new to this - living in Mexico. The only guy that I know who has been here in Mexico longer than me, told me once about the other Ex-Pats. You have to look at it like they have been sent here to Mexico for only one purpose and that purpose is to keep you entertained with their antics. These are not the normal people you grew up with. These are not people you would ever cross paths with back in the old Country. These are not people you want to do business with. These are not people you want to have over for Thanksgiving. If I run into another ex-CIA agent, I am going to scream. There are a lot of Walter Mittys down here. I get so tired of hearing the same life story over and over. They will ask your advise, then do the opposite and then come back and blame you anyway. Living here, I have learned much more about the United States than I ever could have back home. Our really big weaknesses are: one ups man ship and confrontation and we think we can do everything better than anyone one else and that's the first thing we tell all the locals. So they come down here and they do the dumbest things. They fall into their own traps, by leaving their brains at the border. Your own life is a Micro Cosme of all this and Mexconnect is the Macro Cosme and it can be very helpful, so stick around and add to the merriment. And keep living the dream to it's greatest extent.

Who said he/she was giving up on Mexconnect and what does your post have to do with that?

You forgot to add that there are people here who are also unclear, confusing writers.

My first reaction to that is "what are you smokin'?" But assuming that you're sober, it looks like you've run into the wrong kind of expats. There are people with their heads on straight living in Mexico. Some of them even post on Mexconnect.

You don't have to read all the nonsense. Some people have nothing to do in their retirement and get their macho fix from contrived conflict with "winners" and "losers". Pathetic, but that's humanity.
Didn't you mean you mean "microcosm"?

For a place to get practical information about Mexico when you need it.....this is one of the best forums available.
