Blush, blush, blush. And it takes a lot to get that from an old sailor!
Thank you all for the kind words, but I'm going to ask one more favor. When you receive your books PLEASE begin by reading the Acknowledgements. I'm amazed at how many people helped with the book, as well as the extent of various kinds of aid and assistance.
And the Foreword by my editor Teresa Kendrick sets the perfect tone for the entire book. Check it out before you go any farther. And I LOVE her photo! And her writing. And her.
And most of you are going to recognize the names of many of my contributors, and you'll see photos of each of them. My name comes first on the cover but this was definitely a team effort. I think that sets it apart from all the others in that you get a variety of opinions in addition to (this AIN'T a brag) more verifiable sources of needed and usable information than all of the other "come on South" books combined. Plus we all actually live and/or work in Mexico!

As for the parties; the first will be an appreciation get-together for all the contributors and those who saved me from myself on numerous occasions. The support I received from them was incredible and I think it's essential that I have an opportunity to personally thank them as a group.
Then we'll do a really unusual launch party. Not one where the esteemed author plops his/her butt behind a table and waits for the adoring throngs to materialize and fawn (or not, to their chagrin). We have some fun stuff planned, as well as an unexpected location. We'll do it all "Uncle Donnie" style. Offer vioid in some States, no purchase required. We'll advertise and post notices so those who want to come can make plans.
BTW, ca fight update: I'm winnin'. Four major bone tumors are GONE, two others are shrinking to beat sixty. My lung is totally clear of disease, although there is a scar across it (big deal); and the lymph system is clearing itself with the aid of the radiation. Five more treatments and I'm headed HOME!!! We all need a hobby and evidently mine has become slaying cancer. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and helpful words. I treasure the notes you send.
