The Return of the Condor.

My youngest daughter just came back from a camping trip with her school in the Sierra San Pedro Martir. She reports the sighting of two live examples of the California Condor. 1n 1987, their numbers were down to just 22 birds. There are six currently living in this area of Baja. A huge amount of money, maybe even equal to 5 hours of our war expenditures, was spent in saving this specie from extinction. I am happy with its success.

I am very happy to hear this! They are magnificent birds! Thanks for sharing this (Have to admit, thought at first you were posting about the movie "The Day of the Condor" Rather hear about these marvelous creatures.

This is wonderful news ! The variety of birdlife in Mexico, especially during spring is one of the joys of living here.
