Starting a small business in Mexico

Can't Post | Private Reply
I am interested in starting a small business here in Mexico. I am pretty clueless where to start. I don't even know how to go about it in the U.S. let alone here in Mexico.
Let's say I want to sell women's clothing. And certain brands from American companies at that. I also want to sell some used women's clothing. I want to buy a distributor/wholesale prices in US and export to Mexico.
I would appreciate any leads, links, ENCOURAGING advice- it can obviously be done and be profitable at that- I've seen it being done- and I think I can do it better- better quality and better prices and better selection.
Some specific questions I want answered are:
How do I get wholesaler prices in the U.S.?
How do I get my product from the U.S. to Mexico (especially without me accompanying it)?
How can I find out the cost of the tariffs?
What other expenses expected or unexpected might I find.
What documents do I need to make myself legal to sell in Mexico and/or the U.S.?

total n00b questions I know. But every good thing (and bad for that matter) has a little beginning.

Some other maybe useful information:
I will be selling out of my apartment, maybe online if their are clients.. maybe even a tiangis would be interesting at some point.
Right now I am in the process of getting an FM2, and I am married to a Mexican national.

thanks in advance
