As I turned into the final five cars before the inspection booth to cross into the US, I noticed a lot of new faces with different uniforms that all seemed different as none was dressed the same. I tried to look casual, but one came over and motioned me to lower my passenger side window. He was respectful. He wasn't interested in what I was carrying or my citizenship. He wanted to know what the Mexican Media was saying about the I.C.E. agent that was murdered in Mexico. I played along even though I wasn't sure what an I.C.E. agent really was. I said what I had heard was that a US Federal Agent that came upon a fake Military check point somewhere between Monterrey and D.F. and there was a shootout. That's all I had heard. Well, I have a few questions myself. 1) Did these guys replace the D.E.A? 2) What is an I.C.E. agent exactly? 3) And do these guys who work in Mexico driving around with diplomatic plates and working out of the American Consuls actually think that nobody knows who they are? Is that their idea of being undercover?
