...why anxious and depressed? I am still missing my life in Mexico. I can go whenever I want except for the kids are doing so well in school here so I'm sticking it out back home in Florida for them. I don't see us making it back any time soon.

I miss the "feel" of Mexico, the fresh foods, the healthier lifestyle, the ability to not need so much money, the music... even the tv programs I got accustomed to and can't get here. I don't miss the hefty gossip...ew. I was really submerged into the culture where there is a lot of jealousy towards Americans teaching in the schools there...so THAT I can live without. Of course, where I taught, I was the ONLY American teacher there. I heard it wasn't so bad in schools where more foreign teachers were on staff. On the flip side, I have a large Mexican family I married into that treats me with such love that I miss them soooooooooooo much. Hugs to them all, wish I could be with them.

Many good things have happened since I returned NOB but I'm still restless and itching to go back. Employment is good for me here or there. But schooling for the kids is top priority right now. NOB we have lots of salt-laden and greasy fast food available to a working mom trying to get kids home from school to eat dinner and meet homework obligations (in other words, I SURE could use a fonda or comida corrida here!!). I eat out a LOT LESSS now than before I went to Mexico. Thanks to Suegra, I can cook up a healthier meal in no time....except our tomatoes aren't as ripe (often have to buy them near ripe stage and keep them shelved until they turn red), our avacados cost a mint and dang if even the garlic isn't near as strong and flavorful as what I cooked with in Mexico. Man, have I been spoiled! No more $10 USD electric bills...wow, was that ever nice! Anyhoo....enjoy your time there.
