Sending packages to Mexico

I recently stayed in a hotel in Mazatlan. Upon arriving home in the USA, I discovered I had forgotten to return the hotel's keys and they had forgotten to ask for them. I'd like to return them, but understand the Mexican postal system is not always reliable. Would someone please tell me the best way of returning these keys while being reasonably sure they will arrive at the intended destination? Your help is greatly appreciated. Muchas gracias.

Place them in a padded and properly addressed envelope, and use the regular mail to send them. If the USPS asks you to complete the customs declaration, note "keys," and "no value."
