Selling a Car in Mexico

Can't Post |
Has anyone ever broughten a car from the US and then sold it? Is this a hassle or a big process? All of my Mexican friends here tell me that it is very easy and a good thing to do if I dont want to bring my car back to the US, but I am not so sure! Any information would be helpful. Thank you so much!

It is more than a hassle, it is illegal. When you bring in a car on a temporary import permit, it is just that, temporary. When you sign the permit application, you are promising to remove the car from the country eventually.

I have had some Mexicans ask me to to this for them too. They say "It is no problem." That is true for them probably. They will already know which official they can pay to falsify Mexican papers for the car.

The consequences for you will be that you will never be allowed to bring another car in to Mexico, until you can prove that the first car has been removed from the country.
