Hello JCGM, Mexico is a large country with many states, counties and cities/towns, many of the towns have the same name. Are you referring to the town of Loreto in the state of Baja Sur?
If so, I am also building in Loreto, BCS. I got several plants at the nursery near the Pemex as you enter town. However, the person who cares for the property in my absence has advised me to go to Constitution next time. The selection of plants is better and the price is also lower.
Furniture, appliances, etc can best be obtained from yard sales or local stores. If you are planning a trip to La Paz or Constitution you will again find better prices and selection. Also, you can bring a few things at a time whenever you come down.
Good luck on building your house, it's an adventure no one should miss. You can Email me if you would like to discuss the building process.
Best wishes, Juan

Retiring in Loreto

:Hi! I visited Loreto about 6 or 7 years ago and loved it. Since I hope to retire in Mexico, Loreto is one of the places I am considering. Could either of you, or better yet, both of you, give some insight about life in Loreto. ie: cost of real estate ( I am single and poor ;) ) rents, etc. Thanks in advance Erich. ps. Good luck buildin your house!!
