Permisso de Vehiculos

Hello,

I'm a new subscriber to Mexconnect, which has already proved immensely useful for our planned move to San Miguel de Allende. Somewhere on here I found a link to Banjercito.com.mx that allows us to fill out a Permiso de Vehiculos up to 14 days in advance of arriving at the border. The actual page describing the process (https://www.banjercito.com.mx/iitv/index_en.htm) is understandable enough, but when I click on the link to "Start the Registration Process," I get a rather confusing message that asks for the importer, type of document, and document number. The importer selection seems obvious enough (turista) but I have no clue what to select under the type of document and the document number, and can find no explanation anywhere. Can someone please help? Thanks in advance, Jon Sievert

I believe that is where you choose passparte and enter your passport number...that is if you are using your passport and not your birth certificate...

Anybody else?

Thanks. That sounds like a good answer. I'll wait a couple of days before actually filling it out to see if anyone responds to the contrary.

Well, ordinarily I am not a contrarian but, I think when I did it a couple of months ago, I gave my FM3 number as the document and number. In any event, the online preapplication is great and saves a lot of time.

I believe if you pull that little arrow down, you will see your options of which documents you to choose from....

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that it had to only be a passport.
