Need a San Diego area address....seems impossible!

Can't Post | Private Reply
Hello,

I'm a White American living in TJ and have lived in Mexico two years. I need an address in the San Diego area to be an address for bills, jobs, amazon.com shipments, typical stuff. I was using an address for a while but these people moved away and I can no longer use their address. I don't know what to do. I don't have a California DL, it is Arizona. Most importantly, I've been looking for a place to get my mail sent but have have not tried again after I was shot down quickly by USPS Post Office shortly after moving to Mexico. Those forms requires IDs with addresses in which the person lives/does business; supposedly they verify this. I don't understand why they make it difficult. I could put my Mom's address on the mailbox application, but that is in WA state which probably wont fly applying for a Southern California mailbox. Any suggestions or ideas from people who know? Thanks!

Z

What does your skin color have to do with acquiring an address?

It has nothing to do with it, White American is a common term. If the term is new to you, please feel free to check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_American. I have visited Mexconnect for over a decade and I'm concerned with the increase in flaming and mean-spirited posts on this site. In the past it wasn't like that.

Bennie, it's like saying, "I'm a White American, so can I buy a car in Mexico?" Sentences like this make sense to many.

Then why did you include the description in your post?

Common term? Hardly.

You aren't trying hard enough. There are hundreds of Baja residents, both native and gringo, who use the many mail services in San Ysidro and Chula Vista for just that purpose. If you don't feel like crossing frequently to pickup your envelops and packages, there are services in Rosarito that will do that for an extra charge. Your situation is not unique. In fact, it is typical for residents in the area. Anything can be done with a little bit of ingenuity and money, of course.

Brian thanks, I was wondering about solid information on how these people do it and if they register mailboxes with addresses in Cali or other states.

Bennie, no ayudas en nada, solo eres un buscapleitos! So what if I say White American, an acceptable term. I'm not gonna remove White from it just because you or someone claims to not like it. Maybe then you'll get upset because I said "American" instead of the much more specific "US born citizen." Dejate de molestarme ya.

I didn't ask a question with hostility initially, but you responded to me in hostility; Therein lies the unfairness.

I recommended mexconnect for years to people but with each reply I see that mean-spirited, sarcastic folk seem the majority. Ya se fueron los buenos anos de mexconnect.

I've already checked out UPS, I've done my homework. I was asking for real advice and experience. Not sarcastic opinions from people who "really don't know."

Thanks for ruining my day.

Get over yourself. Ruining your day, really? Go to UPS (not USPS) or FedEx or Mailboxes, Etc. and get yourself an address.

Here is some real advice: Get over yourself and stop trolling. You asked this mail question about a year ago and don't seem to have made much progress since, despite your copious homework:

Oh, and please lose the "white American" drivel. Mail service is an equal opportunity issue.

I am the white boy ( THE GRINGO ) the only one in my Mexican town, common to be called los ojos de azul out of respect, I even refer to my self as the Gringo, so it is just a name and the respect in the town for me is because of me NOT who I am or was and my respect for the town is the same

Rolly,

I'm so disappointed. I had actually thought of messaging you as you are a veteran of this board and ask you why I was being singled out. But now I see you're applauding them.
I'm not a troll, I'm just a regular person that came to a site I had admired for many years. I don't know the reason for the mean-spirited comments, I just don't.

I have had a private mail box in Coronado for the last 15 years. I go there weekly and receive packages. I send things out through the Post Office in Imperial Beach because they are open until 2PM on Saturday and everyone is really nice and efficient. I don't recommend the San Ysidro Post Office or the Chula Vista either. Lines are long CV and SY is just too close to the border. Never have important documents like passports sent to the San Ysidro Post Office. The further away from the border for your address, the better. If you don't have a car, then there is a Postal Annex on Market Street right off the Trolley Line. Good luck with this.
