Looking for advise on denture costs in Zapopan area

Hi,
I'm in need of new choppers, and visited a dentist in Zapopan where I live. I got my exam, and was floored by the "sticker shock". I know new dentures are expensive in the States, but the prices quoted at this place were darn close. Is the story about new dentures being less expensive here a myth?

The dentist wanted roughly 19000 pesos for a lower partial bridge and a complete upper plate. I thought this to be a little high. I'd appreciate any suggestions. If this is the norm, then I'll have to delay our return to the States...(aw shucks!!).

While not in the Guadalajara area, the link which follows will give you a price comparison. This dental clinic caters to Gringos in the City of Juarez and is considered one of the best with very modern equipment and US educated dentists. Their dental lab work in done in El Paso so one wouldn't be benefiting from lower costs in that portion of the overall cost. My initial reaction to your quoted price is that it seems high.

Thanks, I live in the Guadalajara Zapopan area, and Juarez is a little bit of a journey. I was thinking about what you said about the dentures being built in the US, and the place I went here is a franchise type place, lots of overhead, so that could be the case as well.
