Larger Than Usual Mouse Problem This Year?

Can't Post | Private Reply
I started the day two days ago with my wife saying she heard something (like a little animal gnawing on something. . . . . . . being hearing impaired, I didn't hear a thing. I then went to get a screwdriver from my canvas tool bag for a “honey do” list project, and fond some mouse droppings. I moved all my tools and home repair parts boxes and fond a quantity of droppings. We moved all the boxes and cleaned very well around the area. Then I went o where my wife said she heard the noise. I moved those boxes and found another "dropping" area. Later in the day, I went with my wife after our normal shopping, and bought a few mouse traps. Later that day my wife's high pith and extremely fast speaking to her mother brought me out of my office in the house and she swears she saw a mouse running under the stove. later that day I searched a lot of different stores and found they did indeed stock traps but they were sold out. Several of the merchants said they were "having a run" on mouse traps as there seemed to be a higher than usual number of people buying traps.

Our house by most standards would be “squeaky (pardon the pun) clean”. My wife teases me and calls me (among other things) the "Zip Lock Man". I put everything that is a food source into either zip lock bags or other Zip Lock containers. I asked my friend in the pueblo if he was seeing an increase in the normal mouse migration into homes with the weather changing. He also had caught some of the pesky little critters. He also told me he keeps two cats in the ceiling of his home. Never heard of that one before! That sounded a little odd to me, but so what, it is his home. Wonder where the little critters go to the "banjo" in that house's ceiling!?!?!?!?!

So I am wondering has anyone else seen an increase this year in the "pitter patter of little feet", in their homes or community?

By the way we have caught 4 little critters over the past 2 days on sticky traps. Wonder how many more are to come.

In my part of Guanajuato we have had a mild winter--more critters of all types survive.

Typical guy bragging about the size of his "mouse".

Seriously turmabout,

Thanks for the chuckle. hat really made me laugh, wjhen I re-read my own question. If I hadn't have been so tired last night, I would not have provided such an obvious and easy opening. Just remember . . . . . . what goes around , comes around! (smiling)
