La Laguna Catemaco question

The article on Catemaco intrigued me about an area of Mexico I have always wanted to explore. Incredible beauty everywhere. Please don't throw rocks for my asking, but, what are the chances there might be a golf course anywhere close to Lake Catemaco?

I did a quick look on the internet, and did not see any references to golf in the area. Mexicans are not as big on golf as Americans, and relatively few Americans vacation there. I do not remember seeing any golf when we were there.

My guess is no golf for 100 miles, but I could be wrong.

There is a lot of terrain in Catemaco. Some of it makes great golf courses. Caddies, or the equivalent are cheap, and with a few tees you could really hit it off.
Unfortunately, the closest professional course is in Veracruz City, app 100+ miles north.
