Immigration fee increases for 2012

Can't Post | Private Reply
Just a heads up. My state INM sent out an email announcing fee increases for 2012 to go into effect today, January 2. There was an attachment, but I see that the new fees are already posted on the INM website. Among other changes, Inmigrante renewals have gone up from 2,801 to 3,140 pesos. Interestingly, they are still using the old terminology for no inmigrante, inmigrante, inmigrado, etc. (at least in this section).

The website is using the current terminology. The new rules are still being developed.
No Inmigrante costs $1451 in 2012
Inmigrante is now $3140

Thanks, Rolly. I added "Inmigrante" to the fees in my post to avoid confusion.

The INM attachment I got says 294 pesos for "No inmigrante turista". I don't know how much it was before. And I believe the vehicle permit fees are set by Aduana, no?

Thanks for this. We went today into the Puerto Vallarta Migración office for our tercer refrendo and paid the 3140 each. All the requirements, procedures were the same as in the past.

The lady who takes care of checking the paperwork DID say that probably next time we could apply for inmigrado, suggesting there will not be a need for a another refrendo. But as for now, it appears we are inmigrante rentistas until next January, but, of course, we shall see what the next few months bring.

Question: Later this year I'll be at 5 years and, depending on changes, I may apply for "FM2" or Inmagrante, what is the advantage of that? Or, currently I could start over again on a No Inmagrante.

There is no advantage in changing because the visa forms will be merged into one by the new system coming soon to an INM office near you.
