Immigration Forms - No Street Address

Can't Post | Private Reply
I've searched and don't see any good answer to this one so hopefully someone can help with this question. For the FM2 application what do you do if your house has no street address? My house does not have a street address. Besides having no number I'm not sure if the name of the street is "official". I can't recall if the escritura has a street listed or not (I'll have to dig it out and look, but it is hand written anyway by the local officials). I don't see any way to enter "Calle Reforma S/N arriba del meje" (meje == pozo). There is no mail delivery. Normally around here you just get a mailbox in the nearby small city but I'm not sure that would work in this case?

My friend filled his form out with his house description locationas the address and we made up a number. His house was at kilometer 40 on a highway for example and we used 40 for his house number. This will get you to immigration with a completed form. At that point they may help you to change to a better address. (You can always stick some numbers on your house or gate to match whatever ones you choose.)

I agree. Put up your own number. Maybe 666 would scare away vendors. Smile
What address does CFE use for your bills?

Would there be any benefit in this case to seeking a constancia de domicilio ("proof of residency") from your local Municipio office?

Could the address that appears on a constancia de domicilio be regarded as one's "official" street address?

Does the Mexican Post Office have any say in this?

Just curious...

My bills come to my name with the address blank. Sometimes they are stamped with city and state. I pick them up at a house for a couple of pesos (serves for entire community) or I go into town the next week and pay at the office. There really isn't anything that identifies my house on the bill except for a 3 digit contract number.
It seems like so far the suggestion is to make up a number and call it good.(?) Has anyone else ever done this?
Yeah Kimmy, that is a good idea. I wonder how much the "fee" will set me back.

Yes ... used it for 4 years for my FM3. I had no other connection to an address ... bills, etc.

As everyone says ... it differs per INM Office what they will accept

Some friends of mine had the same problem and included a constancia de domicilio with their FM2 application. As I recall, they obtained it from the municipal offices nearest them. I believe they also supplied a copy of their fideicomiso and a Google Earth image showing the location of their property.

We also have no street address, but use: Calle xx s/n, Colonia name, City, postal code.
Although we now do have mail delivery (lack of street number is no problem here!), we didn't when we first applied for the FM-3. For the original application, we did include a copy of our fidecomiso, with the legal description of the property.
The CFE bill gives a different permutation of the address, but the inconsistency was no problem with the Merida immigration office (now that we have telephone service, we use the Telmex bill for comprobante de domicilio, which shows the S/N address).

If you have no number, can't you just use S/N, and ask when you go in person to immigration?

Sorry - S/N means "Sin Numero", and is the typical designation for a street address with no number.
