I know Mexico has perfect weather, but I just had a heat pump (air conditioner/heater) installed and I love it. No more 3am wake-ups to human and canine serenades, no more sweaty pillows, no more dust clouds engulfing me in bed. I'm sure I will enjoy a little heat in the winter, too. I love open windows, but at least now I have a choice!

Congrats on your heat pump!

Not "all" Mexico has perfect weather. We're on the Gulf Coast in Veracruz and in the summer (and lot's of time in the spring and fall) it's unbearable (at least to someone from Canada/Northeast U.S.) without a/c.

Yeah, the bills are a bit much, but the alternative (going without a/c) isn't a viable option for me.

We don't have heat, so it's sweaters and extra blankets when the northers blow in during January and February.

It functions as an air conditioner, heater,
de-humidifier, or as a simple fan. It was this multi-function aspect that sold me on it. Here in Guanajuato state we can use all these things at various times.

I don't drink (maybe one beer per month), so my vice is using excess electricity!
