Our decision whether or not to live in PV or Manzanillo was predicated on two considerations. One was the ease of air travel and the second more serious was the availability of quality healthcare provided by medical personnel who could speak English in a private and /or IMSS hospital. In Manzanillo there is only one private hospital although I understand that there is private care available in either the IMSS or Naval facility. It seemed to us that if you want better quality care a trip to either Colima or GDL would be required. You may wish to contact pamela@healthcareresourcespv.com. Pamela is a gold mine of information on healthcare in the region. We decided to take private insurance , using a Mexican insurer (Metlife Mexico) as the premiums seem to be less, although coverage is restricted to Mexico. Get a good local agent. Mexberry.
