Ok, I guess I may be dumb, but can some one tell me where exactly "gringo-gulch" is located in Vallarta?

I guess I have really never known.

It is just a little south of the city center near the Rio Quale

Right behind the zocalo and the church in the center of town. Walk up the steep steps and follow the street around and you will behold the infamous suspended brifdge between Liz Taylor and Richard Burton's villas!

Actually those two villas did not belong seperately to Burton and Taylor, they both belonged to Liz. Burton bought a house around the corner of Calle Zaragosa on Miramar. As Dan said the area is up the hill behind the church and along the north side of the Rio Cuale.

It is the area up the hill from south downtown and old town. It is the area around the old Liz Taylor house. Gringos are now everywhere in PV.
