Mexico's bus service is different from--and IMHO much better than--Greyhound. One of those differences is that Mexico City is the "hub" for all of the country and various buslines have different territories. So buses coming south from the border, for example, will drop at Mexico City and passengers and freight change to another busline going to, in your case, Oaxaca. While I have never sent freight unaccompanied, I have spent many hours and covered many kilometers on various Mexican buses. They are so superior to the ones in the US, the differences are simply indescribable. The only luggage we ever lost was via Greyhound in San Antonio, Texas, on our way back to Mexico. ˇViva Mexico!
