Gas Barbeques

Can't Post | Private Reply
Does anyone know whether the connections on a gas barbeque grill from the U.S. are compatible with the connections in Mexico? That is, will I have problems getting the tank filled at the local bottled gas place? If I get a new gas bottle down there (rather than transport the bottle) will I be able to hook up the regulator and hose without problems?

They're not readily available out in the provinces where we're living, so we were planning on bringing ours with us.

Thanks

When you consider that most places here can service propane bottles on RV's, it's probably a good bet that they can fill your barbeque bottle too.

I brought a new gas barbecue, including tank, with us when we moved to Mexico. We had the tank filled in Mexico with no problem.

Don't know about buying gas container down here.

I bought my BBQ grill in the US (before they were readily available down here), and it's been readily fillable at the propane (or whatever kind of gas they use when I take it to the gas place miles away). I've bought two extra tanks at Costco, just to have spares, and they work just fine without any kind of adapters. All the tanks were US-made.

Just be sure it's empty...the aduana doesn't like it when a full or partially filled one tries to come across.
