FM3 Time Limit?

Once an FM3 is issued in the States does anyone know if there is a time limit in which you have to cross the border into Mexico?

Jennifer...we got our FM3s in Houston but have not left yet for Ajijic. We planned to wait until the first week in May to leave for Ajijic (right after the packing truck left with our things). That means that we need to get to Ajijic and register our FM3...right? We don't need to cross the border to register it then come BACK to Louisiana, pack, and move...

Someone suggested that we should have registered it before we moved our things (we have a moving company and a menaje de casa in the works)...am I making sense?

Thanks...

You're all right. The original poster asked about crossing the border, not about registering his FM-3. The FM-3 must be registered 45 days (or is it 30, I keep forgetting) entering Mexico.

Finish getting your menaje de casa. Move everything. Cross the border. Arrive at your destination. Register your FM-3 with the local INAMI office.

Thanks Jennifer Rose! Whew, what a load of my mind...

The person I was speaking of was someone outside of the forum and it confused me a bit...I was wondering how I was going to make it into Mexico and back in time to move and go to Mexico! I panicked...

Now...back to my packing...
