Converting a building to a Backpackers lodge

Can't Post | Private Reply
Hello,

I am on the lookout for premises to convert to Backpackers lodge.

However, what kind of problems, legally speaking, will I have?

Put aside the construction and ownership legalities for the moment. For the sake of argument let us say that I have bought the building already. What forms and permissions do I have to get to turn a rundown house with many rooms to a lodge?

Thank you for any help

The first thing I would do would be to get a business license which will include a CURP number for tax purposes, a cheap accountant (required in Mazatlan but maybe not in your area) and then go to the local migracion and have your FM-3 changed to reflect your immigration status.

Once you target your market and decide on an area to buy in, you will need to contact the authorities in that area (if you want to go the legal route). Every State in Mexico has different regulations.
