To get job in México, you will need to have an FM3 visa. With an FM3, your temporary vehicle permit will remain valid so long as your FM3 is valid -- no running to the border every 6 months.

This is a good time to be living in Mexico.

If you work here legally you will have a visa that permits you to work and your vehicle permit will be valid as long as your visa remains valid, no need to renew 6 month permits.

If you get a legal job in México, you will have an FM3 visa rather than a 6 month FMT tourist permit/visa. The original 6 month temporary importation permit, i.e., sticker, then becomes valid as long as your FM3 is valid and doesn't have to be renewed.
