I sometimes have coffee with some of the other ex-pats. They're into gawking at the women that come and go. I sit with my back to the door. Sometimes their eyes follow in sequence and they shut down mentally when one walks by. Sometimes I turn around and look myself. This time I rose and went over and started talking to her. They can't speak Spanish, so they didn't know that we were acquainted and I was asking about her kids.

What you are seeing is a discriminator between old and young. If you are 70 years old and still admire beautiful women on the street while sipping your coffee then you are NOT old. If you are 50 and are discussing how well those bran flakes are working this morning then you ARE old, and uninteresting. What do you talk about?

That was a good chuckle for the day.

I have known a few "men" so nerdy that they wouldn't shift focus at the age of 24 when a good looking girl walked by, but a friend back in the states had to finally put his only slightly senile father in a all mens old age home because he was (action, not just talk) molesting the women in the co-ed place. He couldn't keep him at home because the old man was chasing his wife around the house. He was a 90 year old Sicilian, if that matters..........and his 50 year old son was a letch, too. ROFL.

Hey guys.......it's a sign of life, like having a pulse. The degree it is another matter.
