Border Crossing

When driving into Mexico on our way to visit my parents in San Miguel de Allende, we always cross at the Laredo/Nuevo Laredo bridge from TX. However, we will be driving to Tepic, Nayarit in the spring and thought we would cross at the Del Rio/ Ciudad Acuna bridge. Anyone ever cross there? I'm thinking it would be a straighter shot to the area of Tepic if we cross there.

I have lived in Ciudad de Acuña for the past three years and the crossing is always an easy one. Sometimes the traffic gets stacked up going from here to Del Rio, but coming into Mexico is quick and easy. Almost no one ever hits the red light since Acuña definitely encourages tourists. If you will need to obtain tourist visas and car permits, it is done right as you pass the go light and there is plenty of parking. Not everyone speaks English, but there are many around who do. You should have no problems. I am sorry but I am not familiar with the drive south from here.

Thanks.....just what I wanted to hear....a quick and easy crossing!! I'll try to find a map and see if that's the easiest way to head out of to our destination.

Again........many thanks for the info.
