An apt in Oaxaca

Does anybody out there from Oaxaca have an apt or room for rent or know of someone who does? I will be spending up to a year in Oaxaca beginning in March and would like to make arrangements in advance.

I don´t have the precise info you're looking for, but I can tell you there are a bunch of such things available here. There are a lot of people here who cater to the tourist trade with rooms and apartments for rent. We´ve only been here a couple of weeks and are not all that happy with the apartment we rented, so we will probably be looking soon as well. The local Enlish language newpaper, the Oaxacan Times lists some things for rent (perhaps they have an on-line version)--I'm at a slow connection internet cafe, so I´m not going to do a search right now. You might try posting this request on the mexico branch of lonely planet´s thorn tree--I know there is a poster on that board who offers what looked like nice rooms back when i was doing a search some time ago. I may have her address on the laptop in our apartment. I'll send it to you tomorrow. If you want, email me at ramsay52@hotmail.com, and the next time I come down to this internet cafe i'll also bring a copy of the Oaxacan Times and tell you what they currently have.
